27 Children's Books about Birthdays

When I thought about what to write for my first post on Literati Party Blog, I thought well, Literati Party is a celebration of books and parties so what about a list books about parties and of course, birthdays are a perfect party fit!

I’ve rounded up a list of the best children’s books about birthdays (according to my family). Some are great for toddlers and some are more for your school-aged kiddos, some have important messages and some are just for fun, but one thing is for sure…all of the books are about celebrating the BEST DAY EVER!

Kid’s birthdays are kind of a big deal around my house. As a party planner, we start months in advance planning what the special birthday theme will be and how we will turn that theme into the party of the year! If the party isn’t on their actual birthday (which it never seems to be) we also get to plan all of the fun things we will do on their special day. What will we have for dinner? What will they wear? and most importantly, What kind of cake do you want? Yum!

Does your child get to pick out a special bedtime story on their birthday? All of the books listed below would be great to share with your birthday boy or girl at home on their day. They are also perfect for or giving to a friend as a gift or even better, use them as a replacement for a birthday card and write a little note on the front page…so much better than something that will be thrown away once the festivities are done!

If you are a teacher, this is a great list of books for you to read during your monthly birthday celebrations in the classroom. Or if your school allows a guest reader for your child’s birthday..surprise them with one of these books and maybe even gift it to their classroom in their name.

Most books on the list appeal to children ages 0-8 but let’s be honest, some of them are great for 0-101!
